Inside the room

The first room we ever opened. Its light is low and warm, the walls are lined with wine velvet, and everything here is yellow gold — the metal that flatters candlelight and champagne alike. Brides come to the Burgundy Hall for the classics: a solitaire that will be worn for fifty years, a bracelet that catches the first dance, a band slim enough to slide over a lace glove.
